Medicare supplement insurance is private insurance that helps pay for some of the costs not paid for by Original Medicare. As with Original Medicare, there is no referral needed, as long as the Provider accepts Medicare.

Medicare Advantage plans combine Part A & Part B benefits into one plan. Many Advantage plans also include prescription drug coverage and extra benefits, such as dental and vision, at no additional premium.

Medicare prescription drug plans are offered by private companies. While many Medicare Advantage Plans include Part D at no additional premium, standalone drug plans have varying premiums and deductible levels. Extra Help paying prescription drug costs may be available to those who qualify.
